Q3: Is polish pottery microwave and oven safe?
Yes, in fact it is excellent for baking. It will produce an even heat, hold the heat well, to keep the food hot longer, and then be SO easy to clean after the baking. (Also goes into the dishwasher and freezer.)
However, IT CANNOT TAKE RAPID TEMPERATURE CHANGES. Heat or cool slowly to avoid cracking or breaking. Also avoid placing directly on marble or granite counters/tabletops. Both marble and granite are normally colder than other surfaces so we recommend using a towel, trivet or other barrier to protect your pottery.
Q4: Does Polish Pottery Plus offer gift certificates?
Yes, we will gladly send a Gift Certificate for any amount to whomever you wish.
You can email your request to email@example.com or call us at (860) 217-0011.
Q5: How is price of the pottery determined?
Price is determined by how long it takes to paint the pieces. The simplest patterns with only two colors will not take long and therefore will cost less than a more complicated multicolor pattern.
We carry at least four price points. The top two are quite intricate in design and therefore done by the best and most experienced painters. Excellent and Artistic (also known as Unikat/Signature) are signed by the artist.

Q7: How do I use a Pie Bird?
Line the bottom of the pie plate with the bottom crust and place the pie bird in the center. Add the filling around the pie bird. After rolling out the top crust, cut a small slit in the center, then carefully place the top crust on top of the filling. Ease the pie bird up through the slit; it should fit snugly. Crimp crust edges as desired and bake with the bird in place. Remove the bird after cutting the first wedge of pie.
Q8: How do I use a Butter Ball (Bell)?
Pack softened butter into the lid portion, add water to the base, then place the lid into the base. The water (which should cover the lower section of the butter) forms a seal, keeping butter fresh and soft on the counter. To serve, invert the lid and place onto the base.
Not for use with whipped butter, margarine or other spreads. Caution – additions to butter (ex: herbs) will shorten the amount of time that the butter stays fresh.
